Roman Minin is one of the most popular artists in Ukraine.

His work is authentic, filled with colors and expression of Eastern Ukraine. The artist from the Coal Mining region devoted his creative energy to the development of contemporary industrial art. He combines the knowledge of classical and folk monumental art with modern technologies. Roman Minin is an artist who is ready to work in teams on complex architectural projects, as a rare specialist in public monumental art and multi-figure compositions in interiors and exteriors. In his studios in Ukraine, together with like-minded people, he conducted various creative experiments to test modern polymer materials in decorative art. They mastered working with programmed machines, 3D printing and other modern tools. The result of these experiments were various sculptures, bas-reliefs, stained glass windows and works of digital art. Some large-scale projects remain at the level of an idea. The author is actively looking for architects to collaborate on projects that will be considered a work of architectural art and will become new sights of the city.

Roman Minin proved himself as a child prodigy, when he was 14 years old he became famous, he was known in the Donetsk region as the youngest surrealist artist. He continued his bright creative path in the second largest city of Kharkiv (Ukraine). This city was considered the intellectual capital of Ukraine and it was considered very prestigious to get a higher education at the Kharkov Art Academy. Roman received a good education from excellent professors of monumental art, who were practitioners and practiced the creation of murals together with their students. During his student years, Roman became the organizer of the first street art festivals in Kharkov and made his first large-scale solo exhibitions.

From 2008 to 2022, Roman Minin lives and works in Kharkiv, participating in various international street art festivals. In 2015, the Ukrainian magazine Forbes recognized him as the most promising artist in the country. Thanks to the support of collectors, Roman creates a MININ ART HUB in Kharkiv to develop various modern art trends and popularize digital tools for creativity among the younger generation. Organizes BATTLES of ARTISTS in programs for sculpting in virtual reality helmets and other educational programs.

In 2022, due to the war in Ukraine, Roman Minin went to live in Charleroi, Belgium, as a refugee. This mining region is filled with the history of the coal industry and the industrial past, which reminds the artist of his native land and inspires the author to continue to develop relevant industrial art and other creative experiments.

Roman Minin’s work is diverse: poems, songs, unique paintings in the author’s technique, photographs, abstract paintings, digital installations and stained glass, projects of modern monumental art, wall paintings, sculptures and educational projects.

He has been working on the concept of augmented reality since 1999. The first artist in Ukraine to install an augmented reality monument in 2017. Creator of SMS ART in 2004. Since 2020, she has been organizing artist competitions in art creation computer in virtual reality headsets. In the city of Kharkov for educational purposes creates a center and an organization of artists’ embassy.

The creative path leads him to the creation of an international symbol of mining and of a whole “transmonumentalism” subculture.
